Description:

Bill 168 will impose on every Ontario workplace with more than 5 employees significant and detailed obligations for workplace violence prevention and workplace harassment prevention under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.  The unprecedented enforcement of OHSA laws in the context of violence prevention in 2008 underscored the interest of all Ontario employers in being positioned to meet onerous new obligations.

MOL inspectors issued 185 orders related to violence in the workplace in a six-month period in 2008!

This briefing will position Ontario employers to:

    1. Understand the new obligations with respect to workplace violence prevention and workplace harassment prevention that will be ushered in by Bill 168.
    2. Provide direction, tools and templates to implement the initiatives required to meet due diligence obligations for workplace violence prevention and workplace harassment prevention.
