Pay Equity

In case you forgot (and you would by no means be alone), pay equity legislation exists in every Canadian jurisdiction.  The general purpose of pay equity legislation is to address the gender wage gap, which remains at many estimates a remarkably stubborn 29%.

Pay equity obligations are based on historical data of wage differentials and job comparisons – which is a technical way of saying that liability for failing to address gender wage disparities can reach back decades.

We work with our clients to proactively identify and address gender wage disparities.  When complaints arise or investigations are initiated, we guide our clients through the complex legal regime to best position the data and limit exposure.
